plate 278 mm x 366 mm with large margins 250 mm x 200 mm plate.
"A dappled racehorse shown in profile to right, with a groom at his head, holding the reins and looking at him, in a field surrounded by a wooden fence, with a thatched cottage in the background; after Stubbs."

The small grey horse Gimcrack won 26 of his 36 starts and is still commemorated today with the Gimcrack Stakes held at York.
